I finished a pair of socks yesterday. They came in good timing as I am going to have to put my Monkeys away for good. I finished them on my birthday and yesterday I discovered two holes in one sock and one hole in the other. I'm currently looking to see if I can buy a darning egg, but I don't know if I have the patience for that. I wore those socks a lot.
Stats:
Pattern: Yarn Harlot's Basic Sock Recipe
Yarn: Trekking XXL in 81 colorway
Needles: 1.5 US
No mods.
I have a bigger ball left, more than I anticapated. Some is going into my sock yarn blanket.
And RIP my poor Monkeys:
Now the question is: To darn or not? Any ideas, horror stories??
ETA: After I posted this, the sleet turned back into snow. We have big, fluffy flakes coming down. Without further ado, here is Iris' first snow!
What is this stuff?
Does it taste good? She seriously kept trying to eat it, it was hilarious.

What fun to have snow! We'll be lucky if we get any before Christmas...
Personally, I am a fan of darning. I feel like I put enough work into socks that they are worth fixing if at all possible. Some holes are beyond me, but I do my best if I can!
I love snow! Personally, I think it's great to live somewhere where you can actually get some good use out of all those marvelous woolies!
I love snow too! Iris is so funny, sniffing around the snow.
That's a great Trekking colour! I remember thinking when I last used it that is was kind of rough, but wow, does it every soften up with washing!
